Turns out that being a Living Vampire takes some of the fun out of being a vampire. First of all you’re a gnarly style vampire in the tradition of Nosferatu, then you don’t even get that sweet sweet immortality. You still have to survive on human blood, and don’t go trying to take some of that fake blood, that stuff just won’t hold you over. But when you’re dying of a debilitating blood-borne disease, getting any kind of extension on life can seem like being granted immortality. Unless your friend that you’ve been funding the entire time to cure the disease decides that the cure is worse than the disease and refuses to administer it for you. If that’s the case, you’re set up for a Spider-man anti-hero who is the latest addition to the ever expanding Spider-verse of Spider-man characters except Spider-man himself. The Living Vampire joins Venom already in progress, Toombs from another universe, and soon to join the band Kraven the Hunter. With all that world building and worlds already built there’s bound to be little hints and nods to those worlds as well as the things that inspire them sprinkled throughout. Once you’ve enjoyed the movie, next comes combing through it looking for all the winks and nods to sharp eyed fans to either hint at what’s to come, what has already happened, and just some things that are related and cool. What kind of hidden gem did you find in watching the latest edition of the Sony Spiderverse?
