Chris Parker and Eli Matthewson want to launch a campaign around porn, but have no idea where to start, or exactly what they want to say. Joined by impact producer Anna Dean, they soon discover they must do a bit of research about how pornography has evolved in Aotearoa before they can come up with a snappy slogan. Beginning at a former porn theatre on Queen Street – now known as the Classic Comedy Club – they then meet former “porn king” Steve Crow (Te Āti Awa) who details his rise and fall in the industry. Finally, they chat to independent producer and sex worker Cathasaigh Ó Fiannachta about the current state of the industry and how the biggest brand in online porn – PornHub – is owned by a mysterious giant company you've never heard of. The pair discover there's a whole lot more to this world than they thought, and that’s even before they’ve tracked down a copy of the first NZ made gay porn.
